Other Callcott Convicts

There were a number of other convicts with names similar to Thomas Calcott, but none seem obviously related :

Richard Calcott – born 1771 – 1781 arrived 1797 on the Hillsborough – sentence to 7 years Transportation in London in 1797 – married Catherine White  – with at least 4 children born. Received a land grant, later a Beer license for the Green Dragon in Cumberland St Sydney in 1818.

  • Harriett Callcott – her two daughters, Harriett and Helena, to Alexander Walker Scott were the foremost natural science painters in New South Wales from 1850 until turn of the century

James Calcott / Colcott – arrived 1830 on the Royal George II – sentenced to 7 years Transportation – Certificate of Freedom in Tasmania in  1838 – sentenced in Romsey Southampton Hampshire Easter 1830 – born Exeter England in 1810 – died 1889 Terang Victoria married in 1842 in Geelong to Elizabeth Taylor – at least one child

Ann Calcutt – arrived 1790 on the Neptune – sentenced to 7 years Transportation i n Staffordshire in 1789

John Calcutt – arrived 1850 on the Eliza IV- sentenced to 7 years Transportation at Oxford Assizes in 1846 – served 24 months on Norfolk Island – born 1820-1824 at Benbridge  on Isle of Wight – died 1894 Tasmania married Catherine stalker in 1861 – 6 children

John Callicott – arrived 1821 – on the Countess of Harcourt I – sentenced to 7 years Transportation at Middlesex in 1820
